Yeah, maybe I need to create a new username (Chris in the suburbs of Atlanta :D). I moved a few years ago, but haven't bothered changing my name. Damn you location dependent names!

Well, I did find out it's playing in my little 'burb! I'm really surprised too. I mean, I'm pretty much the last suburb before everything turns to pure country. I wonder if I'd be the only person in the theater (or, as we like to say down herra... the thee-ya-tur).

Ahh decisions decisions :)

I'm not within 3,000 miles of a showing, but out of curiosity I checked the listings for places I know. It was pretty funny where it's showing and where it isn't. It could be worth going just to see who comes out of the closet. How'd they pick some of those theaters? The dart method? (As for the date ... sadly, clearly not the dart method ... groan.)

I guess the reason the date stereotype bothers me so much is because I believe it's keeping people away from this great music.

Hell, the stereotype kept me from checking out the GD for years :D

Then I ended up stumbling on a few videos I liked...then discovered the archive...and next thing I know I'm spending too much money on official releases :)

Yeah, I may go to this just to see how many people show up.

PS-Where do you live?

I'm in Kathmandu. If there was a showing here, heck, I'd go. Why not? (Dumb date and all.) Yeah, the stereotype ... I sort of thought it had modified over the years as it became clear that Deadheads actually got real jobs, mortgages, kids who were taught to brush their teeth, etc. So it's too bad the Powers That Be chose to go back and emphasize it. But half the world doesn't know what it means anyway, so oh well! Just kinda dumb. Like putting it on a double bill with Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle.
